SRA Un-restricted Technical Training and Assessment 19th - 20th May 2008

The SRA will be running a 2 day Technical Training and Assessment on the 19th and 20th of May. This will be run in the Tay area. We have had a few people requesting assessments so we thought it would be suitable to run a training day and then an assessment the following day. We will also be needed causalities for the 2 days so if you want to get involved get in touch. This is your chance to get some free training and watch what you need to do on an assessment.

When?
19th and 20th May 2008

Where?
19th May Grandtully
20th May Tummel or Braan (water Dependant)

Who can take part?
Any fully paid up member of the SRA looking to upgrade from Level 1, 2 or 2R. This is an Un-restricted Assessment and so will take place on water graded 3 and above. We can assess for Level 2 and Level 3. We will also be needed causalities for the 2 days so if you want to get involved get in touch.

How Much?
It will cost £80.00 per person for the 2 days. If you have already sat your Practical Assessment you will also have to pay £12.50 levy for full upgrade. This does not include accommodation or food. You will need to organise this yourself. Here are some ideas.

How many people?
The minimum we will run it for is 4 people. Maximum of 8. We can run Level 2 and Level 3 assessments together.

What is involved?
Monday 9.30 AM Dry Land Practice and System rigging training. V Lowers Mechanical Advantage.
Monday 1 PM Water Based Training including Wading, Swims, Throwbagging, Zip Line, V Lower.

What do I need to bring?
You need full rafting kit you would carry on the river. If you are sitting your Level 3 you will need to have full Trip kit. You will be assessed on your equipment. You can borrow it from your friendly Raft Operator if you do not have all your own gear. You will also need to bring your lunch.

having attended the 2 day course this may, i just thought i would say what a worth while course and a good group to have done it with. Plenty of time, instruction and skills to be had by all. 2 days seemed perfect for getting all the info and then using it - great crack on the swim rescue 's.
